    MODSE is a kind of syndrome which attacks the elderly patients who are ill with diverse basic diseases. A broad range of organ functions and reserve capcities are lowered, if attcked by some factors such as infect, the basic dieseases of many vital organs will take turn for the worse, this phenomenon is called “water fall effect”. Meanwhile, removing the prognosis of MODSE patients with mechanical ventilation is affected by various factors, so the objective assessment and analysis to the risk factors, the severity of the disease and prognosis is essential for the MODSE patient with mechanical ventilation. It contributes to the gudiance of clinical decisions and reasonable distribution of mechnical resources 。
