MODSE is a kind of syndrome which attacks the elderly patients who are ill with diverse basic diseases. A broad range of organ functions and reserve capcities are lowered, if attcked by some factors such as infect, the basic dieseases of many vital organs will take turn for the worse, this phenomenon is called “water fall effect”. This critical condition may threaten their lives and need treatment assisted by various organ fuctions. Clinical mechinical ventilation is applied to assit the treatment, it can help alleviate the syndrome and improve prognosis. If mechinical ventilation is too long, it will cause ventilator dependence which is hard to get rid of and lead to the deterioration of life quality, unhealty prognosis and increase of mortality rate. Meanwhile, removing the prognosis of MODSE patients with mechanical ventilation is affected by various factors, so the objective assessment and analysis to the risk factors, the severity of the disease and prognosis is essential for the MODSE patient with mechanical ventilation.
